Being still is very important. Taking a step back to realize what’s going on can truly make a difference. It’s so important to take a day of the week to have as your rest day, just like God did. Six days of work and the seventh use as a rest to day to cleanse your spirit and focus that day on God—a day to be still in the moment.

It’s OK to slow down sometimes, to take a step back and be still for a minute so you can assess what’s going on. You can gain so much wisdom from taking a moment to be still with God and focus in on Him. It’s so important to stay aware of what’s going on so you can always have a clear understanding of things. Take your time to relax and be still!

I wrote a few short prayers to pray when you’re in need of stillness…

“Oh, Lord, you know my heart better than I know it myself. You know my struggles, my hurt, and my hardships in life. Please help me to not worry about what’s going on in my life and the situation I’m in. I trust you in the plan you have for my life, and I’m confident you will lead me in what I should do and the choices I should make.”

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 (KJV)

“Dear God, please give me peace in this time of life right now. I pray you would give me stillness, and that I wouldn’t feel looked down on. Help me to feel at peace with the situations I’m dealing with in life right now. Please help me to find a time in the day to have stillness, focus on you, and really focus on scripture.”

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:26 (NIV)

“Hi, Jesus. I pray you give me stillness in the chaotic moments, and that I would feel at peace when I have a moment of rest. Please teach me the importance of stillness, so I will be able to see why it’s important to be still and have peace sometimes. Please help me to step back and relax every once in a while. I pray you would cleanse my spirit and fill me with the Holy Spirit. Please give me stillness, Lord!”
