Do you know that feeling when it seems as if the world could care less about you? Yeah, I’ve been there recently—it’s not easy. It can feel like you’re unimportant or a nuisance. That describes my recent life experiences to a T. Despite that, I know there are truths I’ve been ignoring—I’ve let the shortcomings of others define my worth.
This is not how we are called to live, girlfriend. We are made for more—more than the labels and lies this world forces upon us. Frankly, we are called to live loved.
If I need reassurance of who I am at times, then I know you probably do too. Here are some powerful affirmations we must remember to speak over ourselves amidst defeat, hurt and disappointment.
The ill-actions of others cannot make me feel less than.
I do not need to hear the words, “I love you” to know I’m loved.
My worth is not based upon my performance.
I refuse to allow hurtful words to shape my self-perception.
Affirmations of others will not define what I know to be true about me.
I will be confident in myself, even if no one else might be.
When someone tries to put me down, I will stand firm and believe in who I am.
If I accept my flaws and show myself grace, that is what truly matters.
I get the final say when it comes to what I am capable of.
Even if no one else sees my worth, I will continue to stand up for myself.
I cannot earn love, it is already in my possession.
I refuse to settle for less than I deserve, even if that means hard work and patience.
I am strong, loved and worthy.
Goodness will find me, I just have to surround myself with positivity.
I am the one who holds the key to love in my life.
